A significant moment will take place on Sunday, October 12th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Ghilarza, where a thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated for the 25th anniversary of the priesthood of Father Paolo Contini, parish priest of the Christian community of Abbasanta, Ghilarza, and Norbello. The religious service will coincide with the opening of the catechism year.

Father Paolo was ordained a priest by Bishop Pier Giuliano Tiddia in the Cathedral of Oristano and over the years, he served in various parishes of the diocese, including Bidoni, Sorradile, and Nughedu Santa Vittoria. The Mass of Thanksgiving will be an opportunity to reflect on the life and work of Father Paolo, who dedicated his life to serving the Church.

After Mass, Father Paolo Contini will meet with all the faithful in the parish courtyard, where refreshments will be served. It will be an opportunity to share the joy of this anniversary and to thank him for his pastoral commitment, which has always been met with great passion. In recent years, he has also been deeply involved in the fight against pedophilia within religious institutions, a practice he himself was a victim of as a child, and his case is currently underway.
