The Carabinieri of Gesturi intervened again yesterday evening , following several reports from citizens regarding the presence of a man who was disturbing the public peace and creating a traffic hazard in the town.
The military identified a 61-year-old local man, unemployed and already known to the police , who was wandering around the streets of the town in an evident state of psychophysical alteration due to alcohol abuse.
The man was accompanied by four dogs left loose, without leashes or identification microchips, which were bothering passersby and also posing a risk to vehicular traffic.
The Carabinieri intervened to calm the situation, identified the man, and escorted him home . He was charged with administrative fines for public drunkenness and neglect of animal custody.
Yesterday's incident is not an isolated one. The 61-year-old has been the subject of long-term monitoring by the Carabinieri, related to a complex personal situation that has previously required intervention, reports, and administrative action for similar incidents. Preventive measures, such as a verbal warning, have also been taken against him.
The Carabinieri's actions, however, have not been limited to repressive measures. Over time, they have also launched social initiatives, involving the relevant authorities. These include requests for protective measures, such as the appointment of a support administrator and the evaluation of appropriate care solutions to curb behaviors that cyclically impact the community's well-being.
