She was the grandmother of Gesico, historical memory of the small town of Trexenta. Aunt Bonaria Saba, born in Gesico on February 4, 1920, passed away at the venerable age of 101 years and 9 months. Historical janitor of the town's elementary schools, where she served from 1954 to 1959, she had emigrated to Tuscany for some time and resided in Montevarchi, in the Province of Arezzo.
She was married to Marcello Piras, but was widowed over twenty years ago. Until the end, her children Immacolata and Francesco took care of her.
In the village of the upper Trexenta, the disappearance of the grandmother was greeted with a veil of sadness by all the people who had had the pleasure of meeting her.
"Aunt Bonaria was the longest-lived woman Gesico has ever known in living memory, we wanted to celebrate her next birthday with her, we were ready to visit her together with a delegation from the tourist association", says the president Pro loco, Carlo Carta.
