Moments of fear last night in Gesico , where a tree in the courtyard of the former elementary school fell due to strong winds , landing on nearby houses and electricity cables.

The intervention of the firefighters from the Mandas detachment and the local civil protection volunteers was providential , immediately sprung into action to secure the area and avoid more serious consequences.

According to some residents, the tree had actually hit Enel cables: the rapid intervention of the teams allowed them to free the line and prevent possible collapses that could have caused a blackout in much of the town.
