Three dates dedicated to music and community , in one of the oldest settlements on the island, right in the heart of the Sarcidano: this December the town of Genoni lights up for "Genoni Music Factory 2025" , promoted by the Le Ragazze Terribili cooperative and divided into two sections, " Blues nel Borgo " ( December 4 and 5 ) and " Abbabit Xmas Edition " ( December 20 ). The evenings will begin at 8 pm and will be free to enter, concentrated in the evocative Ex Monte Granatico at Via Santa Chiara 7, in an initiative supported for the Municipality of Genoa with the "Attratività dei Borghi" project, financed by the Ministry of Culture and the European Union.
The aim of the event is to encourage the rediscovery of the Sarcidano village , together with other events that are part of a broader cultural journey that will involve residents and visitors, including concerts, workshops, meetings and social activities , including activities for younger visitors . All of this, of course, will highlight the local history and traditions.
Blues in the Village, December 4th and 5th
In celebration of Santa Barbara , Thursday, December 4th and Friday, December 5th will feature the island's rich blues scene, featuring some of the scene's leading names. First on stage on Thursday evening will be Irene Loche , a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose unmistakable voice has spanned Europe and America before arriving in Los Angeles, where she recorded her latest album, "Keep Walking," produced by Steve Postell and Massimo Satta and released on Irma Records. It's a blend of soul, blues, rock, and Americana, and also features the iconic Leland Sklar (bass) and Steve Ferrone (drums). After her, Don Leone is expected, a duo formed by Donato Cherchi (vocals and harmonica) and Matteo Leone (guitar), with the live addition of Marta Loddo (synthesizers), Gianluca Lopiccolo (bass) and Alessandro Cau (drums), fully rendering the harsh and earthy sounds of the project, in which Delta blues and rock roots from Sardinia meet.
On Friday evening , Elisa Carta will kick things off with her skillful reinterpretations that blend jazz, Cuban sound, Brazilian samba, bossa, and tropicália, as well as the legacy of Italian songwriting. This will be followed by the Francesco Piu Trio , led by the eponymous singer and guitarist, accompanied by Gavino Riva (bass and backing vocals) and Paolo Succu (drums), in an acoustic remix of blues, funk, rock, and soul.
Abbabit Xmas Edition, December 20
Subtitled " Experimentation and New Sound Identities ," the focus of the festival shifts from American black music to contemporary musical exploration, particularly electronic, folk, and indie. In a blend of tradition and innovation, Jannemuru , Angus Bit , Manuella , the King Shepherd and The Lost Sheep project, and the duo Ilienses will take to the stage, offering a musical offering that showcases some of the island's most innovative names.
