Firefighters responded this morning around 9:00 a.m. to a LPG gas leak from an underground tank on the Garrone road in Alghero. No one was injured.

The team from the Via Napoli detachment arrived on site and, using their equipment, identified the source of the leak. Once the situation was established, the operations room was immediately alerted, which dispatched the specialized NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Radiological) unit, equipped to safely operate on the gas containers.

The firefighters then prepared the necessary equipment and began the cleanup operations, proceeding with the controlled combustion of the LPG using a special torch to safely eliminate the gas. During the operation, the supplier was also notified, which will be responsible for restoring the tank and fixing the problem that caused the leak.
