Five reports and fines totaling nearly €43,000 . This is the result of extraordinary checks conducted in recent days on legal gambling at several establishments in the province of Oristano , as part of an initiative aimed at preventing pathological gambling and protecting the most vulnerable segments of the population.
The operation was conducted by the Operations Unit in collaboration with the Investigative Unit and the Carabinieri Companies of Oristano, Ghilarza, and Mogoro, supported by their respective Carabinieri Stations and with the specialist support of the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit of Oristano and personnel from the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Cagliari.
The inspections involved betting shops, top-up centers, and slot machine shops . In five cases, the business owners were reported for violations related to the management of the machines and failure to comply with industry regulations.
Overall, fines totaling €42,956 were assessed, primarily related to irregularities in workplace safety, staff training, and authorization requirements. During the inspections, which will continue throughout the province in the coming weeks, additional labor and safety violations were discovered, which were subject to specific measures by the Labor Inspectorate.
