Gabriele Pergola was 43 years old , was the owner of a betting agency in Quartu, and had recently opened a bar. He used to carry a lot of money with him and Gabriele Cabras, who knew him, knew it. (HERE THE NEWS OF THE MURDER)

This is what emerges from the first reconstructions of the carabinieri of the Quartu company: the man and the twenty-year-old would have met in the "Corte Cristina" bed and breakfast in Quartucciu. Here, according to the screams and the noise of some broken object, they would have had a quarrel, which then degenerated : Cabras would have thrown himself at Pergola, throwing him to the ground and then strangling him with a towel.

Once the acquaintance was killed, the boy would have left the facility with 600 euros, previously in the man's wallet . It is not excluded that he may have stolen them from him. When the managers of the bed and breakfast arrived at the room, alerted by the hustle and bustle, Pergola was already dead.

The carabinieri identified Cabras thanks to the surveillance cameras of the structure and of the area, and traced him as he walked through Sinnai, where he resides . They accompanied him to the barracks, where he was heard by the prosecutor Diana Lecca.
