Future of Microcitemico, workers towards strike: «No to merger, priority to emergencies»
According to the unions, changing the perimeters of companies once again would lead to the worsening of a healthcare system that is already collapsing and that is pushing 13.7% of Sardinians to give up on treatmentPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Workers at the Microcitemico in Cagliari are ready to mobilize against the contents of the bill that in a few lines liquidates the future of the hospital, entrusting it to a new change of allegiance .
The fear of the unions linked to the hypothesis of merging with Brotzu is in fact of a loss of specialization and a worsening of the quality of care for patients with rare diseases . The permanence in the ASL, instead, would guarantee a more targeted and integrated management with the territory .
The discontent emerged first of all in the assembly called today by the Fp Cgil of Cagliari which was attended, in addition to the territorial secretary Nicola Cabras, by the secretaries of the Cgil Sardinia Fausto Durante and of the regional Fp Cgil Roberta Gessa.
Once again the union reiterates , as it has already done during the regional Health commission and this morning in front of the political representatives present, that a new reform is not necessary and that modifying the perimeters of the companies once again risks even worsening the current collapse of the health system . Just as there is no need to strengthen Ares and, on the contrary , its functions should be returned to the ASL .
Essentially, the CGIL is dismantling the text piece by piece because, according to the union, it does not address emergencies and does not resolve the problems of citizens who every day come up against an inadequate health service to the point that 13.7% of Sardinians give up treatment .
Among the emergencies are waiting lists, the lack of health workers, beds, family doctors and pediatricians, the absence of a territorial network that restores to everyone, in urban centers as in all internal or more peripheral areas, accessibility to care: it is in fact here first of all - according to the Cgil - that it is necessary to intervene with concrete and targeted interventions, starting from a planning that is the responsibility of the Health Department which is responsible for giving precise directions on which to then measure the results.
The Cgil also recalls that "during the election campaign the current majority had promised targeted interventions, those that the union continues to demand, and certainly not a new reform that pushes the resolution of the problems even further away. This is why the mobilization from Microcitemico will inevitably spread to other hospital facilities in difficulty, in Cagliari as in the rest of Sardinia, without excluding a general strike to make this Board, the Regional Council, the political forces understand that it is necessary to change pace, that not only must they confront but must also listen, that is, to what they are told by those who, on a daily basis, live and experience the discomfort in all the hospital corridors as in all the facilities and realities responsible for guaranteeing the right to health that today is substantially denied".
The Uil is also on the same line. "Decisions must be taken by the competent bodies, but more than 90 percent of the doctors who work at Microcitemico do not agree with the merger - explains Guido Sarritzu, regional confederal secretary of Uil Sardinia - the hearings on bill 40 were held on a text that, in fact, will be superseded by the council's maxi amendment. This means that the text that will arrive in the chamber will be drawn up by the executive without adequate prior discussion with the social partners and operators in the sector". Now the priority is the financial law. "Let's discuss it in the chamber to guarantee certain resources for healthcare, avoiding the usual passing of the buck. Workers and citizens deserve immediate answers, not more announcements. Another structural reform would be the third in three legislatures: a sign of instability that the sector cannot afford ". The Uil therefore reiterates once again its opposition to yet another reform of the regional healthcare system. " It would be the third in three legislatures, a sign of fragmented and unstable management that penalizes workers and citizens . Rather than dismantling existing structures once again, let's work to strengthen what works, ensuring adequate resources and valorizing staff", concludes Sarritzu.
