After prolonged surveillance in the Ittiri countryside, the military located the wanted man inside a sheepfold . At the time of the raid, the 42-year-old attempted to escape on foot through the thick vegetation, but surrendered almost immediately , finding himself facing the encircling device set up by the Carabinieri.
During the investigation , a 39-year-old local man, already known to law enforcement, was charged at large and held responsible for aiding and abetting and receiving stolen goods.
