Her name is Battistina Secci, but everyone calls her Battina Leona. She is from Urzulei, the mother of three daughters, including Maura Carta, a magistrate at the Court of Auditors, Maria Antonietta, and Adelaide, and is known for her vivacity and clarity.

She loves reading newspapers and knows all her multiplication tables. Two details that, in themselves, say a lot about her: her curiosity about what's happening in the world and a sharp, precise mind. She arrived at the facility in Ardali (a hamlet of Triei) following a fractured femur (the surgery was successful at the Lanusei hospital).

The Osono Integrated Community, coordinated by Greta Murgia, has welcomed her for a few days now. A new chapter, after a difficult transition. But she's the one telling the story, with the same energy as always. For her 103rd birthday today, she received the apostolic blessing of Pope Leo XIV. This recognition, which came from the Vatican, was also extended to her family.
