At the Retirement Home for Elderly Sisters on Viale Marconi in Rome, Sister Consuelita, born Giovanna Maria Nurra, originally from Uri, celebrated a special anniversary: 70 years since her religious profession. She was ninety-five years old, seventy of which she spent in the habit of the Sisters of Saint Anne of Providence. She was in her early twenties when, answering the Lord's call, she began the journey of consecrated life, first with the postulancy, then the novitiate, until she made her solemn profession on August 10, 1956, at the Institute of the Sisters of Saint Anne of Providence in Turin.

Sister Consuelita is a daughter of the Uri community, where she was born on October 23, 1931, to Gioacchino Nurra and Franceschina Salaris. She was baptized by Rector Porcu and grew up in his family, who lived on Via Sassari, at the corner of what is now Piazza Primo Maggio, along with her brothers Antonio, Barore, and Franco, and her sister Minna. It was in the parish community of Uri that she developed the faith that, at a very young age, would lead her to consecrate her life to the Lord. Attending the Doctrine, like many other children in the community, she began to understand and live the Christian faith, until she felt the calling to which she would later dedicate her entire life.

For many years, she was Mother Superior in Sirolo, where the Sisters ran a nursery school and where she raised generations of children. Sister Consuelita's family, having traveled from Uri across the sea, wanted to join her to share the joy of this anniversary and celebrate together a story of life, faith, and dedication. The community of Uri, through the municipal administration, also joins in this celebration with affection.
