From September to December, Autumn in Barbagia: stops in 33 towns

With 500,000 registered attendees and 30 years since the first event as "Cortes Apertas," Autunno in Barbagia—which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary under this name—has become a mature event that allows Sardinia's inland towns to come alive during the months surrounding the beach season, also generating record numbers for local businesses.
The 2026 edition, under the slogan "The ancient taste of hospitality" , will take place from September 5th to December 13th , crossing 33 towns in 32 municipalities (Nuoro is also present with Lollove), showcasing, every weekend, the excellence of the Barbagia towns and offering visitors an authentic immersion in ancient knowledge, art, culture and landscapes.
In this special edition, special attention will be given to artisanal and agri-food products, thanks to a program promoted by Aspen (a special agency of the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce) that aims to highlight the excellence of individual regions.
Alongside the gazebos dedicated to craft demonstrations, there will also be an information gazebo dedicated to Sos Enattos's candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope.
"Autumn in Barbagia thrives on community participation and the ability of local areas to transform their heritage into storytelling, hospitality, and opportunity," says Aspen President Roberto Cadeddu . "This is why, for the 2026 edition, we have chosen to continue and revitalize the program dedicated to artisanal and agri-food products."
For Tourism Councilor Franco Cuccureddu , "Autumn in Barbagia is a valuable component of the regional tourism strategy because it strengthens Sardinia's attractiveness in the autumn months and highlights the cultural, productive, and landscape heritage of the inland areas. The twenty-fifth edition confirms the maturity of an event that has built, over time, a model of widespread, experiential, and sustainable tourism, capable of generating economic benefits in the local areas and expanding the island's narrative beyond the seaside."
