An explosion of songs and colors that transforms into pure wonder: at DomusArT, until Sunday, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a world of feathers and chirps, admiring over six hundred specimens of birds of the most varied shades. The exhibition, organized by the Ornitologica Cellarium association and the municipal culture department, is not only for enthusiasts and experts, but also for all the curious ones eager to discover the most fascinating species hosted in the historic Campidano house on via Neghelli.
Unique exhibition
From vibrantly colored canaries to exotic parakeets, each specimen has been carefully arranged and catalogued to offer the public an experience full of surprises and discoveries. "In addition to addressing a cultural, educational and environmental theme, the activity will allow the students of our comprehensive institute aged 5 to 13 to participate in a competition on the theme of 'ornithological fauna and our territory'", explains Councilor Elisabetta Contini. The competition requires a work between a drawing on A4 paper and an original work reproducing the ornithological fauna and the natural environment. "This will allow five participating students to win a canary with its cage. A jury composed of the Cellarium association will reward their creativity and originality", adds the Councilor. The exhibition, open to the public free of charge, also allows people to learn about the bird species that populate the island ecosystems.
Six hundred species
"With this exhibition we try to represent more or less the entire competitive ornithological world", adds Giuseppe Ielo, vice president of the association, "yesterday the various specimens were judged by a jury composed of experts from Spain, Lazio, Umbria, and Calabria, the awards will be given on Sunday. Stefano Bianchi, multiple world champion from Quartu, is also present with his subjects". In the past, the Municipality has organized other exhibitions with other associations and the response from the public has been very positive. "This event, in addition to representing a moment of notable educational and exhibition value, is an opportunity to promote and support naturalistic culture among young people", concludes the councilor.
