From Cabras to Manhattan: Contini Winery flies to New York among the big names in Italian wine.

From Cabras to the United States, passing through Chicago and New York. The historic Contini winery is preparing for a new chapter in its presence on the American market with its first participation in Great Wines Italy New York, the large tasting organized by James Suckling and dedicated to a selection of the finest Italian wines . The event is Thursday, September 10th at the Altman Building in Manhattan, where the winery will be present with Andrea Balleri, brand ambassador and head of national and international sales for Contini 1898, along with some of Italy's leading producers. This year, Great Wines Italy brings together 350 wines, 180 producers from 20 Italian regions, in a tasting centered around labels selected and rated 90 points or higher by James Suckling and his international tasting team.

The day will feature an initial session reserved for industry professionals, followed by an open session to the public, creating an opportunity for producers, importers, retailers, restaurant professionals, sommeliers, media, and wine lovers to meet face-to-face. The official program for the Grand Tasting includes a trade session from 4 to 5 pm and a general opening from 5 to 8 pm . In New York, Contini will present Tyrsos Vermentino di Sardegna and Tonaghe Cannonau di Sardegna, two labels that today represent a significant part of the winery's presence in the United States . This choice also reflects a specific characteristic of the American market, where the recognition of appellations and terroir continues to play a central role. Vermentino and Cannonau thus become two immediate gateways to Sardinia and its winemaking identity.

Alongside the two leading labels in New York, other wines from the Contini range have also received high marks from James Suckling, including Pariglia and Sartiglia , confirming the growing international attention for the winery's production. Contini 1898's presence on the market is rounded out by Elibaria, Inu, Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Flor, Vernaccia Riserva, and Antico Gregori.
