He is only two and a half months old, but he also needs specific care. For this reason, a newborn was transported today from Alghero to Genoa with a Falcon 900 of the 31st Wing of Ciampino. He was hospitalized at the University Hospital of Sassari, now he has been transferred to the Giannina Gaslini Institute of the Ligurian capital.
The flight, defined as "IPV - Imminent Danger of Life", was activated at the request of the Prefecture of Cagliari and authorized by the Presidency of the Council at the Sala Situazione di Vertice of the Air Team Command, the operations room of the Air Force that has among its tasks also that of activating and managing urgent medical transports. This immediately involved the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the Departments that performs the operational readiness service for this type of mission.
The Falcon 900, which left Ciampino in the afternoon, arrived at Alghero airport where it took on board the little patient, who traveled in a special thermal cradle accompanied and assisted in flight by a medical team. After landing at Genoa airport, shortly after 7:00 p.m., the ambulance headed to Gaslini Hospital for subsequent admission .
