Fine Mediterranean cuisine meets French cuisine. Sassari and Pithiviers , two leading European hospitality education centers, are collaborating for an important cultural exchange. During Erasmus+ Mobility Week, the Sassari Hotel School, led by Antonietta Piras, welcomed 46 students and 10 chaperones from the Jean de la Taille School of Fine Arts in Pithiviers, France.

The transalpine boys visited the historic center of Sassari, the Sella & Mosca Estates in Alghero, the Santu Antine nuraghe, and the church of San Gavino in Porto Torres. The project brought together culture, local knowledge, and technical workshops, thanks to the invaluable French-language guidance of the students of the 3rd Tourist Reception program.

The partnership was born last year thanks to the national Gustofolies competition Promoted by the Institut Français d'Italie. Coordination is entrusted to Professor Barbara Dettori , contact for internationalization, and to the teacher trainer Giovanni Antonio Serra , who worked in synergy with their French colleague Gérald Imbert .

The most important days took place in the laboratories of the Institute for an operation of International professional integration. A masterclass in cooking and dining, where French and Italian students worked side by side in an ongoing technical and cultural dialogue.

The experience culminated in the "Concours des Métiers." Mixed groups created themed buffets, reinterpreting French recipes with typical Sardinian ingredients, combining the two culinary traditions. The menus were presented to a joint Italian-French jury, which evaluated the students' technical quality, service, and ability to cooperate internationally.
