In front of a large audience, the Caretta caretta turtle, named Francesca Antonio , was released into the crystalline waters of La Pelosa , the splendid beach of Stintino.
Yesterday morning, at 11.30, she started swimming again after about 5 months of treatment , at the Crama center of the Asinara National Park. She had been transferred here after her recovery, which took place last December by the fishing boat Antonio Padre of Stintino. X-rays had highlighted the presence of intestinal constipation caused by the accidental ingestion of plastic material , expelled in the following months during her stay in the pool.

The event organized by the Asinara Park, a hub of the Regional Network for the conservation of marine fauna in difficulty, was attended by schoolchildren from the area, as well as the Port Authority of Porto Torres, the Forestry Corps of the Sardinia Region, the Barracellare Company and the Local Police of the Municipality of Stintino.
