Four arrests for massive marijuana plantation in Oristano
This is the third discovery in a month: the perpetrators were arrested while they were busy taking care of the vines.And there are three. The Carabinieri of the Oristano provincial command, together with their colleagues from the Abbasanta helicopter squadron , have discovered the third marijuana plantation in just 20 days.
The large cultivation, consisting of 4,032 plants with a total height between 0.30 and 1.70 meters, thriving and perfectly cared for (irrigated by a drip system fed by a 1,000-liter tank, with an attached pressure tank), was identified thanks to an observation service organized a few kilometers away, using special equipment provided by Sardinian hunters, at this time of year notoriously more suitable for illegal cultivation and harvesting of the hemp plant.
The four suspects were caught processing the plants , which, once sampled, were sent to the RIS in Cagliari for an initial analysis, which confirmed they were drug-grade hemp and contained an active ingredient in THC exceeding the legal limit.
The plants were placed under judicial seizure while those arrested, at the conclusion of the ritual operations, by order of the Oristano Public Prosecutor's Office, were placed under house arrest.
