"In his nearly two-year tenure, the mayor of Cagliari has addressed Palestine, the referendum, international balances of power, even the issues of containers arriving at the port. Everything except the city he is called to govern."

Alessandro Serra, Forza Italia city secretary, stated in a statement: "While this constant media hype plays out, the administration is even neglecting ordinary management. The streets are full of potholes, entire neighborhoods remain in darkness, and garbage piles up uncontrollably: this is the true picture of Cagliari today."

According to the Forza Italia representative , "we need less propaganda and more concrete work. We don't need a mayor who plays at being a miniature UN, but rather," he insists, "an administration that seriously addresses the daily problems of its citizens. Cagliari deserves answers, not catwalks."
