Sardinia exceeds 47 degrees: 47.2 degrees were recorded by the ARPAS meteorological monitoring network in Ollastra . Record temperatures were also recorded in the Oristano area, with Bauladu also recording 46.5 degrees . In Orani , the temperature reached 46 degrees. In Uras , the temperature reached 45.8 degrees, while in Palmas Arborea, the temperature reached 45.3 degrees. Iglesias also recorded above 45 (45.2, to be precise).
These data demonstrate the extraordinary heatwave currently hitting the island. The average maximum temperature recorded today in Sardinia is above 40 degrees Celsius.
The “lowest” maximum, if it can be called that, is the peak temperature recorded in Santa Teresa di Gallura: 30.5 degrees.
During the night, minimum temperatures reached tropical levels (never below 20 degrees Celsius) almost everywhere. The darkness did not help in Narcao, where the temperature did not drop below 28.7 degrees Celsius: it was the hottest area. The air was cooler in Villanova Strisaili, where 13.7 degrees was recorded.
