The regional health councilor Armando Bartolazzi speaks of a " calm discussion ", the unions of a " failed conciliation attempt ". The meeting between the parties took place this morning at the Prefecture to address the salary dispute related to doctors and nurses at Arnas Brotzu, who are asking for an adjustment of their remuneration in relation to those of their colleagues at other health facilities . And the positions, at the end of the summit, are diametrically opposed.
For the unions there were no elements useful for conciliation and the state of agitation continues , waiting for both the Health Department and the company top management to give concrete answers. "For us, the attempt today in the Prefecture has failed", declares Nicola Cabras, secretary of the Fp Cgil Cagliari. " The strike of the workers of Arnas Brotzu is not at all averted , with whom we will evaluate step by step the further mobilization actions".
The acronyms highlight how, from the meeting, it emerged that the department is only preparing to make operational the use of resources already provided for by a law of the previous legislature and intended for all hospital facilities in Sardinia. "If this were the case, no issue in the Brotzu dispute would be resolved", Cabras points out. " We hope that, in the meeting on October 18, councilor Bartolazzi will present himself with concrete and immediately usable solutions , both on the wage front and on the other important critical issues that weigh on a system in difficulty, starting from the lack of staff to the reduction of waiting lists to arrive at a program that restores balance between hospital facilities and the territorial network".
The meeting was called by the Prefecture, after the proclamation of the state of agitation by the trade unions representing both the medical health management and the sector (nurses, healthcare workers, laboratory technicians) of Arnas Brotzu. For Bartolazzi, who emphasizes that he has always "proved to be extremely sensitive to the situation of the Brotzu Hospital and to the reasons of the trade unions representing the workers", a calm discussion is underway with the acronyms and the dates of the meeting have been agreed. For the councilor, the objective is "to bring a climate of serenity and motivation back to Arnas Brotzu, as well as to all the health companies on the Island" .
Bartolazzi has certified a heterogeneous picture of remuneration, which is why his decision is to start a process of reviewing the current remuneration requirements of healthcare personnel . The Regional Health Department has been busy for several weeks in developing some reference models, based on the application of current regional and national legislation and on some specific experiences referred to other regions. This is to identify the fairest parameter capable of satisfying the legitimate demands of doctors and sector personnel, who must find adequate economic compensation for their daily work.
