Rust, cobwebs, dust, dirty rooms where even frozen fish was stored.
NAS sweeping checks on the Poetto seafront: the military identified two food warehouses obtained by subdividing a single room of about forty square meters and never notified to the health authority . The warehouses, intended for the storage of food for kiosks under state concession, were not only irregular but also in ridiculous hygienic conditions, without ventilation systems and pest control.
They contained frozen fish, non-refrigerated products and materials intended for contact with food, all in an unsuitable state of preservation.
The legal representative of both companies, a 49-year-old resident of Cagliari, was identified as responsible for the administrative violations contested. The military proceeded to seize the premises - for an estimated value of about 60,000 euros - and all the food, the health authority will evaluate the consequent measures.
The companies were fined 6,000 euros.
