The Sanluri firefighters intervened on Saturday afternoon to rescue a pink flamingo that had become entangled in the cables of a high-voltage power line near a rice field in the countryside of San Gavino Monreale.
With the help of a ladder truck sent from the Cagliari Command Operations Center, the 115 men reached the bird, rescued it, and then entrusted it to a veterinarian for first aid.

The animal was then transferred to Monastir, to the Forest Agency's Wildlife Breeding and Recovery Centre.
A Terna team also intervened on site to secure the section of the power line during the rescue operations.
