It was a difficult first Sunday of October for the firefighting front in Sardinia. Several blazes broke out in the afternoon, requiring aerial intervention: helicopters, as well as two Canadair aircraft.
At the request of the Forestry Corps' firefighting operations manager, two aircraft from the national fleet responded to a large fire that had broken out in the countryside of Pabillonis, near Guspini, in the C. Espis area. Two helicopters from the regional fleet and one from the Army were also on site.
Torre dei Corsari is also on alert, where flames, driven by strong sirocco winds, started close to the coast.
And mobilization also took place in Calasetta, where yesterday's fire has seen a resurgence.
