Approximately ten hectares of Mediterranean scrub and uncultivated land went up in smoke. The large fire broke out this morning in the Stintino countryside, in the "Cuile Novo" area near the Pazzona sea.

The firefighting operations were coordinated by the Sassari Forestry Corps following a report to the Operations Room. The firefighting effort involved patrols from the Sassari Forestry Station, the Barracelli units of Stintino and Porto Torres, the Forestas firefighting team of Sassari, and the Sassari Fire Brigade.

The intervention of the Anela Fire Station helicopter was necessary. The fire spread across a vast area of uncultivated fields. Cleanup operations and surveys are underway to precisely define the area. The Investigative Unit of the Sassari Forestry Inspectorate is conducting investigations to determine the cause of the fire. Burning brushwood, even on private land, is currently prohibited.
