On the eve of the Forestry Corps staff strike, called for today with a sit-in in front of the Regional Council, the Regional Council yesterday submitted amendments to the budget amendment bill that allocate new resources totaling approximately 6 million euros .

They will finance the 2025 advancement fund and staff reclassification, with the stated goal of completing the professional reorganization and enhancing the specialized skills of the Regional Forestry Corps' operators.

With these proposed amendments to the bill currently being examined by the Regional Council committees, "the Region has effectively followed through, following the approval of guidelines by Aran Sardegna, on the commitments made in recent days to the trade unions," declared Sebastian Cocco , Regional Councillor for General Affairs, Personnel and Reform. "Sardinia is burning at this time, and the Sardinians would not understand the reasons for a strike, even if it was dictated by noble reasons, which the regional administration promptly addressed. We therefore trust in the sense of responsibility that has always historically distinguished the Forestry Corps."

Specifically, the Region has allocated €1.7 million for Forestry Corps staff advancement through 2025, in addition to €850,000 in annual structural funding for subsequent years. €1 million per year is also earmarked for staff reclassification, a long-awaited initiative aimed at recognizing the role, skills, and functions performed by the men and women of the Forestry Corps.
