Fire threatens homes in Serramanna, with helicopters and Canadairs taking to the skies: seven evacuated.

Two Canadair aircraft arrived from Ciampino to support two regional helicopters already in action. These maneuvers were undertaken to try to contain the flames that broke out in the Serramanna countryside. The fire threatened several homes; seven people were evacuated as a precaution by firefighters.

The flames, fanned by gusts of sirocco wind, are advancing, and the Civil Protection operations center has dispatched air support. The situation is most critical in the Serramanna countryside , where the mayor has decided to evacuate three homes after the fire approached several farmhouses in the Su Fraigu area, not far from a country church.

The fire is affecting an area of reed beds and crops. Another helicopter from the Pula Forestry Corps base responded to a blaze in Sarroch, in the Sa Perda Scritta area . In this case, the flames, which devoured Mediterranean scrub and uncultivated land, have been practically contained.
