Another tough day is expected in Sardinia in the fight against wildfires.

The highway police temporarily closed a section of State Road 130, at kilometer 8, in the Assemini area, due to a fire. Traffic was diverted while firefighters arrived to extinguish the flames.

In Olbia, the intervention of a Canadair was requested, to support the teams on the ground and a helicopter from the regional fleet, to tackle the fire that broke out in the Frate Ghelardi area.

The firefighting operations are coordinated on site by the DOS of the Olbia forestry station.

The Forestry Corps is also responding, again with a helicopter from the Villasalto base, to a fire in the Nuraminis countryside, in the Pauli Mannu area.
