With the upcoming summer season, the resources available for the 2024 forest fire campaign are increasing. There are 36 new Ford Ranger pickups being delivered from yesterday to Forestas staff who will be operating in Sardinia in the fight against the fires .

In total the arriving fleet numbers 179 vehicles and the assignment will take place according to a calendar organized over three days. We start from the Sassari and Tempio car parks : within this week all the organisation's territorial services will receive the first "upgrade", which can immediately be used for the first interventions.

The pickups are also arriving at the Bagantinus car park (Decimomannu) under the supervision and coordination of the regional councilor for environmental protection Rosanna Laconi and the general director of the Agency Antonio Casula, accompanied by the managers of the Car Park Service, Civil Protection and Forestas Fire Prevention - who managed the complex supply. The operations will be completed within the week.

The Agency thus confirms its contribution in the regional deployment which also includes the Forestry Corps and the Civil Protection (which is responsible for coordination in the field and management of the operations rooms) as well as volunteers and the Fire Brigade, according to the Regional Fire Prevention Plan already approved in recent weeks by the Council. In the coming weeks, the supply of new vehicles (another 36) equipped for the forest firefighting campaign, with 450 liter barrels and essential equipment for putting out fires, is expected. Six additional vehicles are arriving, 6 Mercedes Unimogs with heavy tankers.
