Obsolete and high-mileage vehicles, maintenance delays, a lack of protective equipment, problems with fire extinguishers and oxygen systems , as well as critical issues with stretcher management and the definition of driver skills.

The list of critical issues with the Arnas Brotzu ambulance service is long, and has already been formally reported to the General Management without any resolution being achieved.

The provincial secretary of FIALS Paolo Cugliara denounces them, underlining that in addition to all this there are obvious organizational problems: «Unevenly distributed shifts and availability, staff shortages, difficulties in managing shifts and clocking in , disparities in the assignment of specialized activities and difficulty in finding the person responsible for the service».

Furthermore, routine maintenance of the vehicles is not adequately scheduled, explains Cugliara. This leads to prolonged ambulance downtime.

FIALS also calls for clarity on the assignments to Esculapio , a private company, verifying costs and motivations and evaluating, where possible, the priority use of company resources and personnel.

Furthermore: "We understand that the company management intends to outsource the canteen service as well, even though it's a service that works well and is appreciated. Why outsource something that works? It should be enhanced, not dismantled and outsourced."

Cugliara calls for immediate responses and concrete action: "The safety of workers and patients, the quality of services, and the proper management of public resources can no longer be postponed. What's needed now is clear action and timelines," he urges.
