The associations that deal in various ways with the protection and enhancement of Fertilia have written an open letter to the director and head of the regional assets of the village, Dr. Carla Sassu, urging a restoration project for the Egis structure in via Cherso, after the roof collapsed on the night between March 6 and 7. "This event represents not only very serious material damage, but also an open wound in the heart of our community and a symbol of the abandonment of our cultural and historical resources", explain the Fertilia-Arenosu neighborhood committee, Fertilia natural shopping center, San Marco celebrations committee, Egea Association, National Association of Venezia Giulia Dalmazia and the Ente Giuliano di Sardegna.

"The building, which you have already declared unfit for use for years due to the presence of various damages and critical structural conditions, housed within it a library of extraordinary historical and cultural value, a true collective heritage of the community of Fertilia. Despite repeated reports, also sent by private individuals bordering regional properties and official meetings held at the headquarters in Sassari, the conditions of the building have remained tragically unchanged ", point out the representatives of the associations of Fertilia according to whom "the situation is no longer tolerable".

In essence, it is requested to "secure and restore the Egis structure of Fertilia, while protecting the precious content of the library . Ensure preventive and adequate maintenance for all regional assets that risk following the same fate. Make a clear and verifiable commitment, communicating to the community an action plan with defined timeframes and tangible results. We of the Fertilia community are determined to defend our heritage for present and future generations".
