A fatal fall from a horse occurred around 10:00 a.m. today at a riding stable in Bari Sardo. A 17-year-old resident of a town in the Ogliastra region was riding a horse when, perhaps after the horse became unruly, he slipped from the saddle and fell to the ground.
The Le Grazie association ambulance arrived on the scene at the direction of the Sassari 118 operations center, which assigned the incident a red code (due to the circumstances). The young man, who remained alert and conscious throughout, was treated on the scene and subsequently transferred to the emergency room of Nostra Signora della Mercede Hospital in Lanusei, where further clinical assessments were performed with various radiology tests. He was complaining of pain in one leg.
