Mourning in the trade union world of Sardinia: at the age of 77, the general secretary of the Ugl Piergiorgio Piu has died.

Ill for some time, the protagonist of numerous battles alongside workers passed away in a bed at the Oncology Hospital in Cagliari.

The funeral at the cemetery of San Michele in Cagliari, the Ugl of the capital city said, "will be a moment to remember together his life and his extraordinary commitment to workers' rights. The presence of each of you will be a sign of affection and gratitude for everything he represented."
