The city has lost one of the great protagonists of Alghero's cultural life since the 1960s.
Paolo Dessì, singer-songwriter and musician, has passed away.
"A man who has given much more to the Algherese song than we can imagine. Born with the rock of "I Notturni", a well-known local band from the 60s, he grew up culturally at the Centro di Studi Algheresi under the wing of Antonella Salvietti, scholar, singer and poet, and Rafael Catardi. Paolo himself is the inventor of the "new frontier" of the Algherese song: in his songs you can feel the flavor of the great singer-songwriters, I cite for example Paoli and, perhaps above all, Tenco... filtered however by "his" originality that has become style", writes his friend and music teacher Paolo Zicconi in a post on social media. "The Algherese song, with Paolo, loses its "refined" innovator".
