The trial of Alessio Scurosu, the 40-year-old accused of defamation for having published counterfeit videos on an American porn site by placing the face of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the bodies of the protagonists of hardcore scenes, continues in Sassari.
In the next hearing, scheduled for Tuesday morning, the testimony of the President of the Council of Ministers is expected, who has become a civil party and is called to testify as the offended party.
From what we understand, the prime minister will not be present in the courtroom but is expected to testify via videoconference directly from Rome.
The hearing has been set for 1pm and given the need for remote testimony, it will take place in the courtroom of the Court of Assizes, equipped with the necessary equipment for live connection.
Meloni, assisted by the lawyer Maria Giulia Marongiu, has already announced the request for compensation for damages of 100 thousand euros, which will be allocated to the Ministry of the Interior's fund for women victims of violence.
Roberto Scurosu, father of Alessio, 73, was also involved in the investigation, which began in 2020.
The man has already requested and obtained from Judge Monia Adami probation and assignment to the External Criminal Enforcement Office, for a 4-month public utility work program to be carried out at the Italian Union of the Blind and visually impaired.
