A case of extortion in a school setting brought to light the story of a bullied boy, literally tormented by another teenager two years older than him .
The incident occurred in a town in southern Sardinia, where the Carabinieri arrested a sixteen-year-old . According to the officers' reconstruction, yesterday morning during recess he allegedly forced another 14-year-old student to hand over a sweatshirt and a purse. Then, to return the stolen items, he allegedly demanded money, even threatening him with text messages .
The victim had previously told his parents that he was being targeted by the sixteen-year-old, and the case had come to the attention of the teachers. Yesterday, he again contacted the teachers, who called 112. The Carabinieri arrived at the school, found the bag and sweatshirt in the "bully's" backpack, and arrested him, taking him to a reception center for minors .
Subsequent investigations revealed that the 14-year-old had been harassed and tormented for some time by the arrested youth, already known to the Carabinieri for his very aggressive attitude towards his parents.
The officers also found chat messages on the boys' phones containing threatening phrases: "Give me that sweatshirt, I need it, and you have to give it to me otherwise I won't know what I'll do to you"; "You have to give me what I ask for, when I say so." All intimidating phrases, episodes of bullying that yesterday escalated into actual extortion.
The sixteen-year-old allegedly first stole the boy's sweatshirt, and he tried everything he could to get it back. But all his attempts were futile. Then he began making serious threats and, as soon as he met him, he also took his fanny pack.
