To make room for the future containers, a "single authorization request has been submitted to the Region," along with a request for "the imposition of a pre-expropriation restriction." This is essentially a preliminary notice of confiscation. The communication, which triggered the deadline for submitting comments, is online on the website of the Ministry of the Environment (MASE). Anti-speculation activists are raising renewed alarm: "The project must be stopped."

Milan-based Atena Storage srl submitted the connection request to Terna. The company wants to line up metal storage containers in the countryside of Cuccuru Matta Masonis, an agricultural jewel in the Selargino area that "the so-called green transition is devastating," says Ivan Monni, representing the No Tyrrhenian Link Land Defense Committee.
