Excise duty cuts reduced, diesel in Sardinia above 2 euros per litre

"Motorists were safe from danger, but only until this morning. Since the excise tax reduction was due today, a few gas stations had already raised their prices by 5 cents at 8:00 a.m., or 6.1 cents including VAT. This is also because the MIMIT data refers to self-service gas stations, and not all of them update their prices on Sundays."

In short, the blow will arrive tomorrow, according to Massimiliano Dona, president of the Consumers' Union, with data from the Ministry of Mimit (Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport). In Sardinia, a liter of diesel currently costs an average of €2,005, while gasoline costs €1,979.

Tomorrow, therefore, the situation could worsen, "although it should be considered that industrial prices are falling and that today a 50-liter tank of gasoline on the highway costs 25 cents less than yesterday. In any case, in Puglia, the worst-hit region, a diesel tank is already 60 cents more expensive than it was on Saturday, still much less than the theoretical increase of 3 euros and 5 cents expected for a complete transfer."

According to the association's study, based on data from Mimit, Calabria is in second place among the least fortunate regions, where the variation is 55 cents, as in Tuscany (in 3rd place), Piedmont (4th), Emilia Romagna and Lombardy, with the substantial difference, however, that in Calabria the absolute price has already broken through 2 euros (2.012 euros per litre) and is the third highest in Italy after motorways and Bolzano.

On average, the increase on the streets is 45 cents, while on the motorway it is 30 cents.
