"We discussed three topics, some of which were related to the situation in Milan Cortina and the YoGs that Italy will host in 2028. Then the minister linked these meetings to one with the stadium commissioner, Sessa, and Uva for UEFA." This was stated by the president of the Italian Football Federation, Giovanni Malagò , leaving the meeting with Minister Abodi that lasted nearly three hours and which was also attended by the presidents of CONI and CIP, Luciano Buonfiglio and Marco Giunio De Sanctis, as well as Michele Uva, executive director of UEFA Euro 2032 for Italy, and the extraordinary commissioner for stadiums, Massimo Sessa.
"It was a meeting I was pleased with; the atmosphere was excellent," Malagò added, referring to the meeting on stadiums ahead of Euro 2032. " We expect certified responses by July 31st, and UEFA has strict deadlines for this. I feel like it's an opportunity for the country because there will be stadiums to support the five initial facilities, because perhaps there might be some problems between now and then. I'll also be visiting President Ceferin shortly."
For Cagliari and its new stadium, the challenge remains open.
