Two people were stopped this morning by the men of the Nuoro Flying Squad in relation to breaches and complicity which, among other things, led to the sensational escape of the boss Marco Raduano, which took place on 24 February from the Badu 'e Carros prison.
Two arrests, those of today, which are not directly linked to the escape but to the critical issues of the prison , an investigation by the Nuoro prosecutor's office prior to the escape. There are also other suspects.
The arrested are Roberto Deledda, 38-year-old assistant chief of prison police from Siniscola, and Carmela Mele, sister of a boss of the Mele clan from Pianura. It was she who commissioned and sent the parcels (which contained cell phones) to the chief assistant who received them by poste restante and arranged to introduce them into the prison. A total of 2,500 euros of payment have been certified , around 100/150 euros per telephone.
Meanwhile, the investigations by the DDA of Cagliari into the detainee who disappeared after having lowered himself with the sheets from the walls of the penitentiary continue.
