Residents have expressed distress and protests over the "worrying situation" of the bridge connecting San Sperate to Villasor.
"It's been in this state of disrepair for over a year now," Daniele told UnioneSarda.it. "Not only is there only one lane of traffic, but the work that began some time ago has been interrupted without even taking the precaution of protecting the areas where work had been done from the elements."
The resulting situation is therefore that of a bridge "which also carries heavy traffic, including commuter buses, where on one side the surface concrete has been removed, exposing the reinforcing steel . Throughout the winter, those excavated sections have been transformed into pits filled with water , leaving the steel soaked, with obvious risks to the safety of the structure."
A situation of danger as well as discomfort, with citizens "now discouraged by the lack of response from the administration on the matter."
