The water emergency that has affected some municipalities in northern Sardinia since last Saturday is over. The fault in the pipeline of the Coghinas 2 plant was repaired ahead of schedule.

Enas announced it yesterday evening, Wednesday 21 May, through a note, specifying that it will complete the work so as to allow the water purification plants of Pedra Maiore and Castelsardo to be supplied.

"The incoming flows to the water purification plants will reach the ordinary values, equal to 100% of the normal requests, around 10 pm on Wednesday", the note reads. The greatest critical issues had arisen in the municipalities of Castelsardo, Valledoria and Santa Maria Coghinas. In particular, in Castelsardo, the mayor Maria Lucia Tirotto had issued an order for the total closure of the city schools on Monday 19, and the closure of some school buildings on Tuesday 20 May. Now the emergency has ended.

"The restoration of effective service to users - Enas informs - depends on the normalization of conditions in the networks managed by Abbanoa".
