Maria Laura Orrù has been elected mayor of Elmas . She resigned a few months before her term expired to run again. She received 2,429 votes, or 52.99%, surpassing Giovanni Maria Fois , who received 47.01% (2,155 votes). Orrù will have 11 city councilors, four for Fois.

In a post on Instagram this afternoon, Maria Laura Orrù announced her victory. "It's a great feeling," she wrote. "We've always believed in our Common Vision, we presented it with a smile and commitment, and now we can enjoy this result, which is the fruit of great teamwork."
