A step forward in strengthening the Sos Enattos mining site's candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope. The regional government has approved the "Einstein Telescope (ET) Sos Enattos" Project Unit, part of the presidency. The unit will be tasked with coordinating political, cultural, and organizational activities in support of the candidacy and implementing the regional communications and outreach plan.
The project unit will be responsible for implementing the strategic guidelines defined by the control room and multilevel governance.
"What we are building is not just a scientific project. It is a new civic and cultural infrastructure. A model in which science is not a distant world but a driver of social cohesion, economic development, and new opportunities for young people and the region. Through this project, we are seeking to foster synergy between research institutions, universities, businesses, and international partners to strengthen a virtuous bond between the scientific system and our region's productive fabric," emphasizes President Alessandra Todde.
Two information points are also planned for Lula and Nuoro. According to the Management Committee's proposal, the municipalities of Lula and Nuoro will provide the facilities for the hubs, the National Institute for Nuclear Physics will provide the scientific equipment, while the Universities of Cagliari and Sassari will select, manage, and train the staff who will manage the two hubs in Nuoro and Lula. The two universities, together with INAF, INFN, and INGV, will also organize events, symposiums, workshops, and seminars.
