A complaint has been filed for an attack by three large dogs. The incident occurred last Wednesday in Ottava, a suburb of Sassari, but was recently reported. A 26-year-old woman was walking two small dogs on a leash on Via Sarippa when a pitbull and two other mastiffs, unsupervised, attacked them.

The result was serious injuries, particularly one of the two mixed-breed dogs, who suffered a punctured lung and a mangled paw. The other dog, the young owner, and her mother, who intervened to help her, were also injured. According to a reconstruction, the attack apparently reached the home of the two women, who were seeking refuge inside.

The arrival of two passersby caused the trio of animals to move away. Emergency services then arrived, taking the women to the emergency room, along with local police and animal protection officers. The latter fined the dog owner for neglecting their duties, while the Municipal Police received a complaint from the women, represented by lawyer Mario Pittalis, on Thursday. The fined owner responded that the investigation would be handled and declined to comment.
