Eight stories of strength and talent: here are the “Feminas” 2024 awarded in Cagliari by Coldiretti
Among them also Marina Calderone, Minister of LabourEight women, eight faces of Sardinia who with their determination and talent have left a mark on society, art, science and sport. They are the protagonists of “Feminas” 2024, the award organized by Coldiretti Donne Sardegna, which celebrates female excellence and the role of women in building a more just and inclusive future.
The event, now in its eighth edition, is taking place at the Teatro Doglio , where representatives of the agricultural, institutional and cultural worlds have gathered to celebrate these extraordinary figures. An event that is not just an award ceremony, but a manifesto for gender equality and for the recognition of women's contribution to society and work.
The ceremony opened with a moment of reflection : in front of an installation of red shoes, symbol of the fight against gender violence, the women of Coldiretti read messages of denunciation and hope. "Women are the fulcrum of work and the community, but their value is not yet fully recognized", underlined Maria Gina Ledda, coordinator of Donne Coldiretti Sardegna and host of the event.
Amid applause, the award was presented to eight women who embody female strength, passion and ingenuity. They are the “Feminas” 2024, a symbol of what Sardinia offers to the world.
The winners are : Marina Calderone, Minister of Labor; Maria Itria Secci, historical figure of agriculture; Elvira Serra, journalist and writer; Antonella Pantaleo, internationally renowned researcher; Elena Ledda, singer and icon of the Sardinian musical tradition; Maria Teresa Maccioni, world champion of clay pigeon shooting; Marilena Rimini, president of AIL Sassari; and Caterina Lai, sculptor who transforms matter into poetry.
As Battista Cualbu, president of Coldiretti Sardegna, underlined, «these women are the most authentic example of what can be achieved with passion, preparation and courage.
