Plane tickets are selling like hotcakes and returning to the island these days to enjoy the holidays with family has become almost impossible for Sardinians who want to take advantage of territorial continuity.

Yesterday afternoon from Linate there was a resounding sell-out at the three island airports and for today the situation is expected to be little better with two flights available from the Lombard capital only to Alghero, while the availability from Fiumicino to Elmas, Olbia and Fertilia decreases every hour on the online booking sites. The Island therefore risks remaining "forbidden" until next week, amid protests from passengers and the anger of the trade unions who are asking for more respect for the continuity notices.

The anger

Furthermore, the lack of connections further inflames the controversy that broke out in recent days due to the many flights cancelled or modified by Aeroitalia. "We are constantly monitoring to guarantee the Sardinians as many connections as possible in these days of great traffic", assured the regional councilor for Transport, Barbara Manca. "But we do not have the superpowers to be able to create new flights. We must orient ourselves on the ministerial decree and enforce it as faithfully as possible, but it is difficult to make corrections when the most critical dates are imminent".
