A visit—it is emphasized—that represents a particularly meaningful occasion not only for patients and their families, but also for healthcare workers. The event is organized by the "Giorno per Giorno" non-profit association, committed to supporting the hospice's activities and promoting the culture of palliative care.
"The Archbishop's presence," a statement from the Local Health Authority reads, "is particularly welcome, given the profound attention that Monsignor Baturi has always paid to palliative care, a central aspect of patient care during the most delicate phase of illness. This meeting is intended as a concrete sign of closeness and support to those who live and work daily within the Hospice."
In these hours, speaking to Videolina, Archbishop Baturi also spoke about the case involving the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Pierbattista Pizzaballa , who was prevented by the Israeli authorities from going to the Holy Sepulchre for the Palm Sunday rites : "Preventing prayer and preventing a relationship with God and openness to a greater hope is truly a bad sign" , the archbishop said.
