Pianist, keyboardist, and drummer. And it's as a drummer that Englishman Gary Husband arrives in La Maddalena for the free concert taking place on Saturday, November 7th at 7 p.m. at the Teatro Primo Longobardo .

Husband will present his new project: Orbital Band . Old and new songs composed by him will be performed alongside others written by his band's stellar musicians: bassist Matthew Garrison, who has played with legends such as Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, and John Scofield ; guitarist Rocco Zifarelli , a longtime member of Ennio Morricone 's orchestra and collaborator with Billy Cobham ; and keyboardist Tom Cawley , known for his productions with Peter Gabriel and the Curios .

Gary Husband belongs to that rare breed of musicians capable of expressing their virtuosity as both a drummer and a pianist. His classical roots, his exploration and development in improvisation, jazz, rock, and blues make him one of the most eclectic figures on the contemporary scene, as evidenced by his forty-year career alongside celebrated musicians such as John McLaughlin, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore (Thin Lizzy), Mike Stern (Miles Davis), John Wetton (King Crimson), Level 42, and Billy Cobham.

The event is included in the CultureFestival program, the music and arts festival organized by the Sardinia Pro Arte association with the artistic direction of Simone Pittau .
